Asian Lit

I had my first Asian Literature lecture today and it got me really excited. I mainly took this course to diversify my knowledge of literature and it fit well in my schedule, but it is turning out to be much more promising than those meager reasons. The professor is adorable and the reading list is massive. Which normally is not a good thing, but all the texts seem interesting.

We're reading The Woman Warrior by Maxine Hong Kingston, which is apparently the most commonly studied novel in universities. Weird. Also, we're reading the first novel ever written: The Tale of Genji by Murasaki Shikibu. Add three more novels, a children's story of Mu Lan and a graphic novel and you have the class.

Recently someone told me I was the most wholesome person he knew. I'm beginning to believe him.
