On the Saturday of the long weekend, Kaitlyn, Kitty and I brought some stuff together and had our first downtown garage sale. Our official reason for the sale was for a good cause. We're money-challenged students who really just want new Essie nail polish.
A lot of people came out to support the cause. We had a few book dealers and deal-chasers from the St. Lawrence Market. The early morning shoppers were mostly drive-bys who decided to stop and try on some of our clothes and eat some of my cookies. Later in the day we had some friends come by to visit and we even made a new friend.
We met Ryan Kerr as he was walking by to do his laundry and we soon found that he was on the cover of the Fab Magazine we had out. Truly, Toronto is a small town. He ended up hanging out with us for an hour and even signed our magazine. He recently published a book, On Growin' Up. Props.
